The Ridge

Sarah's footsteps echoes throughout the engine room, interrupting the sound of water dripping from the ceiling. The depth of the ocean does not soothe her as it used to before now that she is hearing the pipes crack. Help Sarah get out of the underwater research base before it's too late.

My Contributions

Video Decoder.

FFmpeg decoder implementation that renders with DirectX.

Shaders.

Depth of Field (Bokeh), Color Grading, SSAO, Dithering, Film grain, Blood vignette, linear fog, black and white death.

Multiplayer and threaded networking.

Client/Server model for 2 player coop. Synchronization of game objects and the environment; interpolation and prediction of positions and AI. UDP/winsock. Dedicated server.

Lobby system.

Lobby browser multicasting. Creation of lobby and synchronizing game settings. Handling the large number of errors and issues that may occur.

Gameplay

End level Left 4 Dead style (statistics feedback), loading screen feedback and atmosphere, rotating beacon lights, dialogues, randomizes more zombie textures.

UI

Sliders, checkboxes, lobby browser, lobby state, in game pause menu, options, etc. Working together with artist/designer to accomplish our vision of the game UI.

Overscoped

In this Overcooked clone the players create games together or whack each other in the PvP mode.

My Contributions

Gameplay.

Core gameplay features. Items, tables, cooking, and all interactions. Iterated several times on feedback from players, such as rewriting core gameplay logic several times.

Controller support.

Threaded handling for discovery of new controller devices. Enters new player in lobby on detection.

Animation controllers

Controlling animations and switching between them.

Camera and its movements
UI

UI controller support and smooth transitions between states.

Rendering

Support for rendering text as model textures in the level, such as the company name. Also added VSync and fades shaders when pausing game.

The Curse of Tugarin

The Curse of Tugarin is a Gauntlet inspired hack 'n' slash with a small twist. The player has to clear the way for the payload containing Tugarin - the cursed king!

My Contributions

Skinned Animations.

Animation system interfacing with an Animator and an Animation Controller.

Shaders.

Vignette, linear fog.

Scene loading and fetching.

Loading scenes from Unity and support for fetching scenes in the background.

Gameplay

Spawners, arenas, payload, camera, battle music calculations.

Editor collaberation

Worked with co worker on his editor in the effort to replace Unity with a more unified tool for our project. Unity was kept to save time.

Shadows.

Dynamic directional shadows using shadow buffer.
